Wakpominee Chapter Annual Message February 2002
Since last year, Wakpominee Chapter Order of the Arrow has been working very hard. In March 2001, we began the planning for construction of the Pioneer Program Pavilion at Camp Wakpominee. Later that Spring, we started actual site preparation and construction. We had a great turn-out at our Spring Beaver Weekend and tremendous help with the pavilion project. In June 2001, we completed several more service projects at our Ordeal Weekend, despite rainy weather. Over the summer, the Chapter received many compliments on all that we have done at Camp. Our ceremonies team did the Pre-ordeal at the Lodge Ordeal Weekend at Woodworth Lake, as well as the Brotherhood walk. We received many compliments on these ceremonies as well. In October 2001, we accomplished even more service projects at the Fall Beaver Weekend. We also helped get Camp ready for the off-season. The lock-in in January 2002 was packed with fun, as you can expect! That event was followed by our Chapter Vigil Breakfast. Also in January, we added and replace many of our committee chairmen where needed, to ensure our Chapter's success. Hopefully, these new changes will help our Chapter operate more efficiently and support the Lodge, Camp and our local communities. In the past year, a lot has gone on and a lot has been accomplished! In addition to the countless hours of service projects at Camp, the Chapter has been involved in many District and Council events. This year, we plan to do the same, if not better! Yours in Service, Harrison Francett, Chapter Chief |
