Camp Wakpominee's facilities aren't just for Summer Resident Camping!
The resident camp grounds are also make a great destination for troops or
groups looking for a weekend camping experience in the Adirondack Park.
The camp is the perfect place for in camp activities and can also be used
as a base camp while exploring the local area.
The camp has facilities for:
In-season fishing, Ice Fishing, Ice Skating, Camping, Hiking,
Cross Country Skiing, & Snowshoeing
Year Round visitors to Camp Wakpominee can stay in one of several
winterized buildings that can house troops and groups of all sizes.
There are also Lean-to's and Tent Campsites that are perfect for year round
camping.
The Adirondack area is known for beautiful foliage in autumn and a large
amount of snow by mid-winter. The heavy snowfall also makes the camp a
perfect place for winter training and igloo building. Snowshoes can be
rented from the Camp Ranger for a nominal fee.
